Our History
Morris Memorial Baptist Church was established through the faithful vision and commitment of a small group of believers who came together on Easter Sunday in March 1964. The group first met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Colon Bridges with the shared desire to organize a country church rooted in biblical truth and Christian fellowship. From this gathering, the foundation was laid for what would become Morris Memorial Baptist Church, beginning with just nine charter members.
By May of 1964, the congregation began holding services in the former residence of Mr. R.L. Morris Sr., where twenty-five individuals attended the inaugural service. The church continued to meet in the Morris home until a permanent building was constructed on land graciously donated by Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Morris. This early chapter of faith and dedication continues to inspire the church’s mission today.
