What We Believe
Morris Memorial Baptist Church is an independent, locally governed body of baptized believers who have joined together in obedience to Jesus Christ to fulfill the commands of the New Testament. We seek to live lives of personal separation and holiness, guided by the authority of the Word of God.

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the sole Head of the Church and strive to honor His Lordship in every area of our worship and service. Every gathering at Morris Memorial is centered on exalting Christ and submitting to His leadership as the Head of the Body.
We believe that a visible New Testament church is a local congregation of born-again believers who are united in faith and fellowship through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe the Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men and that every word is perfectly inspired by God Himself. We hold to the King James Bible as the true, preserved Word of God for English speaking people—without error, contradiction, or omission.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God revealed Himself to mankind through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ: His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death, His burial, and His bodily resurrection. Through His shed blood, sinners are offered complete forgiveness, and access to God is made possible only through Him.

We believe salvation is a free gift of grace, offered by God and received through personal faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ—plus nothing.
We believe in the Pre-Millennial return of Jesus Christ, the eternal security of the believer, and the blessed hope of Heaven as the fulfillment of every longing of the human heart.
We believe that God loves each of us personally and has a unique plan for every life. He is not willing that any should perish, but desires that all come to repentance and a saving knowledge of the truth.
