Our Pastor

Dr. Chris Emory

Dr. Chris Emory was born on April 13, 1966, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. At the age of nine, he accepted Christ as his Savior at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Though his early spiritual growth was limited during his teenage years, everything changed at the age of sixteen when he began attending Mountain View Baptist Church in Cowpens, SC. Under the guidance of Dr. Jimmy Robbins, he was deeply impacted by the message of Old-Time Religion, which ignited a lasting fire in his heart for the Lord.

It was at Mountain View Baptist Church that he met Tammy Riddle, who would later become his wife. Together, Dr. and Mrs. Emory have been blessed with two children and two grandchildren.

Following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Emory surrendered to the call to preach at the age of nineteen. He went on to attend and graduate from Tabernacle Baptist College, preparing him for a lifetime of Gospel ministry. His first pastorate took him and his family to Richmond, Virginia. In 1997, after much prayer and consideration, the Lord led Dr. Emory to Casar, North Carolina, where he became the pastor of Morris Memorial Baptist Church.

In 2015, Dr. Emory earned his Doctorate from Victory Baptist Bible Institute. He remains passionate about preaching the Word of God and shepherding the flock at Morris Memorial.

Dr. Emory and the entire congregation warmly invite you and your family to visit Morris Memorial Baptist Church — a church family for your family.
